All About xUnit
NUnit and MSTest
NUnit and MSTest are the most popular microtesting frameworks for .NET code.
In the mid-90s Kent Beck and Erich Gamma produced JUnit to
make it easy to write and run tests. Since then, similar frameworks have sprung up for almost
all languages. These are called xUnit frameworks, where x is the name of the language. We are introducing you to NUnit 3.x framework, a long-time favorite,
and Microsoft's MSTest framework, which is very similar to NUnit, and
gaining in popularity.MSTest allows running tests in parallel, and integrates well with
Visual Studio and other Microsoft tools.
In the pages ahead, you’ll learn enough about NUnit and MSTest’s fundamentals to write
and execute hundreds of tests.
